A total of 40 km over water: Delivering a payload on an island on the lake Kivu in Rwanda and returning without swapping batteries – this was the challenged posed to the participants  of the “Emergency Delivery Competition” in the context of the Lake Kivu Challenge. Germandrones had been chosen as one of only four finalists. In several days and more than 150 km of distance covered, not only the Songbird was able to demonstrate its reliability but also the ground station and the communications systems from Germandrones, which allowed consistent command and control.
