Both the Songbird and the ground station are manufactured in Germany.

During this year's trade fair Eurosatory in Paris, Lieutenant General Marlow visited the Germandrones stand.

On the second day of the trade fair Eurosatory, the Germandrones-team had the chance to provide an insight into the modern drone technology of the Berlin-based manufacturer of VTOL drones to Lieutenant General Marlow, Colonel Wenz and Colonel Schneider. At the stand in Paris, Dr Klaus Scho, CEO of Germandrones, and Mr. Cornelius Toussaint, CFO of Germandrones, informed Lieutenant General Andreas Marlow and his team about the possibilities and capabilities of the Songbird systems.

The drones are equipped with state-of-the-art camera and transmission technology for surveillance and reconnaissance missions performed by the military, police and other authorities and organisations with security tasks (BOS). They aim at contributing to a compact situation assessment with qualified data and information in real time from a great distance and height. Germandrones’ integrated IMSI catcher, which aroused the Lieutenant General’s particular interest, enables users to locate mobile devices and thus to successfully support both governmental measures to prevent smuggling and, in the ‘Lifeseeker’ version, the search for missing persons.

The Eurosatory is the leading trade fair for defence and security and takes place every two years in Paris. It focuses on defence and airborne technology and is organised in cooperation with the French Ministry of Defence. German companies are the second largest group of participants after the French exhibitors. The trade fair is primarily attended by representatives of authorities and organisations with security tasks as well as the police and military.

In addition to representatives of German and French security organisations, Germandrones welcomed interested parties from other European countries, South-East Asia, Africa and America. “There was great interest in our VTOL systems which have already been used and proven themselves on four continents. At the same time, we were highly inspired by the exchange in order to close existing capability gaps of the German Armed Forces and other forces by the targeted further development of Songbird capacities”, Dr. Klaus Scho, CEO of Germandrones, summarized the course of the trade fair up to now.
