CONDOR presents high-precision surveying drone

BOS-Drones V8-PPK

With the presentation of the new drone model V8-PPK of CONDOR Multicopter & Drones GmbH, a new era begins for survey and mapping engineers:

The ultra-light CFRP monocoque (manufacturer: Cadmium) of the coaxial octocopter houses the proven PPK system (post processing kinematiscs) of the Australian market leader Klau Geomatics, which locally stores the GPS data on flight attitude and position and automatically merges them with the flight logs and camera/image data to form a high-precision data profile.

Ultralight components allow maximum flight time and range

With a take-off weight of only 5.2 kg (including Sony Rx1RII camera* and PPK system), the Copter has a remarkable flight time of over 30 minutes. The optional XL version of the Smart Battery Pack extends the flight time to over 40 minutes. The high-end surveying dome is controlled by an industry standard PX4 flight control system. With a range of over two kilometers, HereLink radio transmission technology ensures both safe control of the aircraft and stable transmission of live data from the payload and FPV camera. The clearly arranged radio remote control features an integrated display. It not only offers optimum operation of the drone and payload, but also enables the integration of powerful mission planning applications such as UgCS. A CFRP 2-axis gimbal with brushless motors, encoder and IMU, which is easy to install and, above all, provides super-precise adjustment, is used for the payload in question. Designed for the respective camera, the gimbal offers all relevant camera connections, which also replace the original batteries of the cameras by a direct power supply via the on-board power supply system.

Complete photogrammetry workflow from one supplier

The brand new V8-PPK surveying drone is the result of a joint development of the German companies CONDOR Multicopter & Drones GmbH, Cadmium GmbH and Videographics Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH in close cooperation with Klau Geomatics in Australia, SPH Engineering (UgCS) in Latvia and Schneider-Digital, the world's most renowned supplier of 3D stereo displays and workstations. The systems are sold under the label "BOS-Drones V8-PPK". Through its "Drone Academy", Condor Multicopter & Drones GmbH also offers its customers professional flight training, pilot licensing for unmanned aviation (EU driver's licenses A1/A3 and A2), as well as targeted workshops and training courses on all aspects of aerial surveying.
